The purpose of the visit was to gather research materials concerning the activities of the People's Republic of China within the framework of the United Nations, with particular emphasis on actions carried out within the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), headquartered in Rome. During the visit, a series of conversations were conducted in FAO and with Italian scholars specializing in studying China’s activities within international organizations.
An important element of the visit was a seminar aimed at Italian experts focused on Chinese foreign policy. The meeting provided an opportunity to present the preliminary assumptions of the project and the results of previous research, as well as to exchange views with members of the academic and analytical communities.
The trip contributed to a deeper understanding of China’s role in the UN system and to the expansion of international research cooperation within the framework of the ongoing project.
