On March 23, 2022. Dr. Socha in the Polish Radio 24 broadcast spoke about the speech of the President of Ukraine to the Japanese parliament. Zelensky thanked Japan for the leading attitude among Asian countries in responding to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The government in Tokyo joined Western sanctions, incl. in terms of cutting off selected Russian banks from the SWIFT system and freezing the assets of Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as those around him and the oligarchs. Februay 23, 2022. Onet Wiadomości published an interview with prof. Mierzejewski, devoted to the complexity of China's relations with Russia from the perspective of recent events around Ukraine. Prof. Mierzejewski says Russia is only a subcontractor in the "China Rebirth" project. - Some time ago, at a conference in Shanghai, the Russians complained to the Chinese side for not wanting to invest in Russia. The Chinese asked them, how about your law? We want our investments to be stable. He also points out that at present the Chinese authorities are closer to Russia, although it is not unconditional. Februay 20, 2022. On the pages of "Rzeczpospolita" a text by prof. Mierzejewski, devoted to Beijing's reaction to the events in Ukraine and possible scenarios with China's participation. The American side will surely take advantage of the growing tension with Russia and its aggressive policy to create a negative image of the People's Republic of China and will argue that, due to the close cordial relationship with Moscow, persuading international opinion to "China threat" will be easier. Closer relations with Russia will place China in the role of "older brother" and Russia in the role of "younger brother", that is, in "one family". This will be used tactically by the United States, and emphasizing China's imperial intentions in international politics will gain new arguments. December 28, 2021. In the program "The World in Zoom" (Polskie Radio 24), prof. Mierzejewski commented on the tactical rapprochement in Sino-Russian relations caused by the threat of losing legitimacy in both China and Russia. Regarding the issue of relations between Beijing and Vilnius, he concluded that the key from Beijing's perspective is to ensure the supply of new technologies and semiconductors, hence the issue of Taiwan is very sensitive. Summing up the year 2021, he emphasized that stimulating internal consumption will be of key importance for economic development, which the authorities are trying to ensure through subsequent political campaigns and showing assertiveness in the international arena. November 3, 2021. In the program "The World in Zoom" (Polskie Radio 24), prof. Mierzejewski commented on the energy crisis in China. He pointed out that China wanted to declare itself a leader in the fight against climate warming because the United States withdrew from it. On the other hand, Beijing remained on the battlefield as a leader, imposing very high standards, but the closure of mines from 2016 resulted in energy shortages. July 2, 2021. It is worth looking at communist ideology in China as the glue holding China together, Professor Mierzejewski told Polish Radio 24. He discussed the role of external ideology, which, because of its diversified ways of thinking, is a fundamental element that limits disputes within China. Chinese and U.S. authorities fear the growing role of technology giants that could undermine the legitimacy of political systems - writes professor Dominik Mierzejewski in "Rzeczpospolita". November 22, 2017. During the Think-tank Forum in Budapest (20.11.2017), Prof. Mierzejewski gave an interview to the People's Daily. He acknowledged that the 16+1 platform is rather bilateral. He suggested that local government diplomacy can be an element of creating real engagement in multilateral cooperation. An example of this type is Guangzhou, which is the only one in China to form multilateral city alliances with, for example, Los Angeles and Aukland. This could prove an interesting model for cities in Central Europe and China.


On October 24, 2017, portal defence24.pl published an interview with Prof. Mierzejewski on concluding CCP Congress in Beijing. On September 4, 2017, in an interview with the Polish Press Agency, the head of the Center for Asian Affairs at the University of Lodz, Prof. Mierzejewski, acknowledged that negotiations at the United Nations would be crucial in the Korean crisis.
