ANALYSES AND REPORTS
The subject of reports and analyses prepared by the CAA includes economic, political and social transformation, risk assessment and business environment analysis of East Asian countries. Studies and reports have already been prepared for the Marshal's Office of the Lodz Voivodeship, Lodz Special Economic Zone, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation, and KGHM Polska Miedź.
The CAA team also prepares analyses and reports responding to the needs of parties interested in cooperation. After determining the subject matter, the report or a broader study is usually prepared within two to three months. In addition, CAA prepares short recommendations for partners visiting Asian countries. The material includes an overview of the political, economic and social characteristics of the destination and an indication of possible areas of cooperation.
TRAINING FOR LOCAL AUTHORITIES
In recent years, the number of local governments cooperating or interested in establishing cooperation with Chinese local authorities has been steadily growing. Delegations of Chinese cities and provinces come to Poland more and more often, looking for opportunities to develop contacts with Polish partners. Due to its geographical, cultural and political specificity, China is a severe challenge to Polish local governments, whose experience in international cooperation so far has been limited almost exclusively to the well-known area of Europe.
The Centre for Asian Affairs has prepared a unique training and advisory offer to support Polish local governments. An essential stage in developing the offer in this area was a pilot training program: "Local government diplomacy as a tool for promoting Poland in China", which prepared local authorities to pursue contacts with Chinese partners and implement the economic tasks of Polish diplomacy. The program received support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the framework of "Support for the civic and self-governmental dimension of Polish foreign policy 2013". The training programme is based on previous courses for local governments of Lodz Voivodeship, City of Lodz office and business environment institutions, including Lodz Special Economic Zone and Lodz Regional Development Agency.
For interested local administrations, we have prepared a training programme that answers a given institution's expectations and needs. Our training starts with evaluating activities already undertaken in the field of cooperation with Asian partners and outlines further activities in the Asian context. It is worth emphasising that the CAA's team of experts has compiled a guide for local authorities on cooperation with Chinese local authorities.
TRAINING FOR BUSINESS
An important function of CAA is its close cooperation with the University of Lodz Career and Employer Relations Centre. As part of our activities aimed at increasing the effectiveness of economic cooperation, we offer one-day meetings devoted to the business etiquette and strategic culture elements of business entities operating mainly in China and Japan. Our offer includes discussions in the form of webinars on the MSTeams platform devoted to socio-economic transformation and the digitalization of the economies of China and Japan.
