The head of the Asian Affairs Center took part in two panels. In the panel devoted to the future of Europe, he emphasized that it is necessary to increase the economic openness of Central European countries to trade contacts with Asian entities. Including mainly Japan and South Korea. Apart from China, which has been operating in the 16 + 1 format since 2012, the region's countries should engage and build economic openness to Asian countries to a greater extent, which will be another form of acquiring capital resources - said Mierzejewski. In the panel "New Silk Road, Via Carpatia, Rail Baltica - what does Poland and Europe need?" as a moderator, he led a discussion with the participation of the presidents of Ireneusz Merchel, PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe, Artur Popko, Budimex SA, Leszek Deca, Suwałki SEZ, Seweryn Szawarocki, director of the Office of the Government Plenipotentiary for the Central Communication Port, and Kaspars Briskens, vice-president for Rail Baltica strategy. The panelists presented projects implemented by companies, with particular emphasis on the possibility of cooperation with the countries of East Asia, including economic entities from Japan, South Korea and China.
