REASONS FOR CHINA'S GROWING ASSERTIVENESS AND PURSUIT OF REFORMING THE UN

In the CAA Brief, Przemysław Ciborek examines the reasons behind the PRC’s growing assertiveness on the international forum. Additionally, China is attempting to implement UN reforms that reflect the increasing role of Global South countries.

The CAA Brief also explores the significance of relationality in the PRC’s current foreign policy. Furthermore, the author investigates the impact of the G77 and the Group of Friends of the Global Development Initiative on expanding China’s relations with developing countries. The central argument is that the development of these relations results in increased support for the PRC’s demands at the UN forum by countries that are included in the so-called “third world” according to Mao Zedong’s Three World Theory. The entire CAA Brief is available here.
