Beijing International Studies University
The Beijing International Studies University (BISU) is a public teaching and research university based in the city of Beijing. Founded in 1964, it was part of the national initiative to promote tertiary foreign language education. The institute grew out of a 1956-established subsidiary of Xinhua News Agency and has developed into one of the most notable universities of foreign languages and cultural studies in China. Today, the University pioneers in the fields of tourism studies, hospitality management and international trade. It maintains links with national institutions including the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the National Tourism Administration. In addition, it holds formal collaborative agreements with more than 140 universities and academic institutions of about 40 countries spanning the continents, providing a wide range of study opportunities for inbound and outbound students alike. According to the China Education and Research Network, the University is ranked fourth for the most satisfactory international admissions and services among Chinese universities. In December 2011, President Bronislaw Komorowski, during a visit to Beijing International Studies University together with Deputy Minister of Education Hao Ping participated in the inauguration ceremony of Center of Polish Studies at BISU. Within six years, the CPS has made a lot of effort in favor of comprehensive research on Poland, provided great scientific support for the development of Sino-Polish relations and actively promoted Polish culture in China. These efforts have been marked by considerable achievements.
Sichuan University (SCU) is one of China’s top universities, attached to the Ministry of Education. The citations ranked fifteenth among Chinese universities. The number of publications in science, engineering and medicine ranked sixth, and the citations ranked seventh among Chinese universities. In 2002, the university applied for 121 patents, 102 out of which were invention-oriented, making it number eight among other institutions. Sichuan University has established contacts and cooperative relationships with over 250 renowned colleges and universities as well as research institutes from 34 countries and regions. It has established well-rounded joint education programs of at different levels and in various forms with 214 famous universities from over 33 countries.
Nankai University (NKU) is a key multidisciplinary and research-oriented university directly under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education and is located in Tianjin on the border of the sea of Bohai, is also the alma mater of late Premier Zhou Enlai. Nankai University was founded in 1919 by the famous patriotic educators, Mr. Zhang Boling and Mr. Yan Xiu. NKU undertake the task of National Chinese Language Training to Foreign countries, launch a number of tasks of study abroad programs which are all in a relatively high level, including Oxford Program, participate in the Davos World University Leaders Forum, first batch “the new international Sinology research plan” carrying forward by State Hanban and advance the level of internationalization.
